Anatomical Study on the Celiac Artery and Its Branches in Korean

Abstract
The author had studied the caliber of the celiac artery and its branches of 104 Korean infants (46 males, 58 females) and 20 adults (14 males, 6 females) and the following results were obtained:
1. In the infants, there were no difference in either sexes in the caliber of the celiac artery and its branches.
2. The calibers of the celiac artery and its branches of the adults were generally two times larger than those of infants. And the calibers of the left gastroepiploic artery and short gastric arteries were about three times larger than those of infants.
3. The caliber of the celiac artery was 1.77mm. in 10.5 months group of infants, 3.81mm. in adult male and 3.54mm. in adult female.
4. The caliber of the Splenic artery was 1.61mm. in 10. 5 months group of infants, 3.20mm. in adult male and 3.7mm. in adult female.
5. The caliber of the common hepatic artery was 1. 77mm. in 10. 5 months group of infants, 3.81 mm. in adult male and 3.54mm. in adult female.
6. The caliber of the left gastric artery was 1.07mm. in 10. 5 months group of infants, 2. 55mm. in adult male and 2.08mm. in adult female.
